Nature as a driver of tourism and the economy

Nature tourism positions itself as a key source of income

Imagine a world where nature is not only the preferred place for tourists, but also a fundamental pillar for economic growth. In Latin America, this reality is already palpable: more than 90% of the region's tourist destinations depend on their natural wealth. From forests, jungles to beaches, mountains and deserts, nature has become the main asset of tourism, attracting millions of travelers seeking authentic experiences and connecting with the natural environment.

One out of every four tourists worldwide chooses natural areas as their main destination, and this segment of tourism has shown an annual growth of more than 15%. This trend reflects not only the growing interest in ecotourism, but also the importance of protecting these spaces, which, in addition to being biodiversity refuges, are the basis of an industry that generates jobs and improves the quality of life of local communities. As more people seek sustainable destinations, nature tourism is positioning itself as a key source of income for local and national economies.

Against this backdrop, the conservation and regeneration of ecosystems is not only an option, but a necessity to ensure the future of tourism. Protecting our ecosystems is not only key for tourism, but also for the preservation of biodiversity and the well-being of the communities that depend on these environments for their livelihoods.
